Neon

Getting to know the family

Tiny Neon : yet another victim of mankind's cruelty .
Late one night we heard a yelping and on checking  found him cowering in a corner of a construction site. The caretaker was  trying to coax him to come out using a long stick. Poor Neon was scared witless   A guard nearby told us that  some people in a car had left him on the road at 3 pm and driven away. Petrified of the older street dogs around, and  all alone, he had  scrambled up the stairs of this house to find a safe corner to cower in

That's where we found him at 10 pm: a quaking tiny white fluff ball hiding in a corner, all big eyes, scared and dazed, famished and thirsty. Within five minutes his little heart and soul  decided that we looked trustworthy and he thirstily lapped up the water and ravenously ate the food we gave. He appeared used to human contact and followed us to our car. He clung to my feet and I picked him up and together we went home. after he ran around the garden a few times and tried to check out our front door, he decided that he had had enough excitement for one day-poor soul-who would not :( . He curled up in the cosy corner we had set up for him and slept peacefully the whole night. Maybe he dreamt of his old home, the humans who had dumped him, maybe he dreamt of his own mother, maybe they were happier dreams...:(

As dawn broke, he awakened. Our other 3 big older dogs examined him and then left him strictly alone. He on the other hand wanted to play and run with them. as the time came to say goodbye , I spoke to him and told him that he was going to a very safe home and space. I wished him luck and Ranjiv and Sid drove away with him.
Bye lil one-stay safe and happy
Off to his new foster

I named him NEON because his light yellow green eyes glowed with love and hope that someone would take him home forever and never leave him ever again.

And so it was to be. His foster mum decided that the hope in his eyes and his little paws clinging to her were telling her something-Adopt Me. And she did

Why was I abandoned?
Can I stay here furever
